The baking began Thursday night with the Derby Pies. Have I ever mentioned that I don't read recipes very well...or directions, but I'm sure that will come up in another post. I can say to you without a lie in my statement that NO TWO DERBY PIES ARE EVER MADE THE SAME if they are made by me!
Looks yummy, right? Somehow, they still turn out edible and some people even offer to buy them from me. Maybe I just got it like that??!?!?!?? Or maybe I just wait until everyone has had enough Mint Juleps to cut into them. Nahhhhhhh.
Friday, after 5 hours of sleep, I began again but this time with cakes for Cake Balls, 225 little Piggys in Blankets, Bacon Wrapped Bread Sticks, Dill Dip and Onion Dip. (wiping my brow) This all happened while I had the Electrician, Bug Man, and A/C Man roaming the place. All asked to stay for the party.... unfortunately, none of them looked the "derby type".
I did take pictures...mostly of the party in full swing, but I do have a few of the tablescapes BEFORE the above mentioned food was in place.
I know, I stink at taking good BLOG pictures.
